"Black in white" A book exhibition with a difference at the PIOP Historical Archive

In the context of "Athens 2018 World Book Capital" the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP) inaugurates, on Wednesday, November 21 (19:00 hours), the exhibition "Black in white" at the Foundation's Historical Archive in Tavros.

The core of the exhibition is comprised of unique works on applied art, artists' handmade books, a part of the Open Collections section of the event. They include cloth-bound books and books made of rare paper in conventional or unconventional form (e.g. books-sculptures). Visitors can discover the power of books and become familiar with their variform artistic extensions. The artists participating with their work include Konstantinos Xenakis, Zoe Keramea, Stephanos Zannis, Markos Kambanis, Venia Dimitrakopoulou, Maria Stamati, Kostas Vittis, Yannis Psyhopaidis, Pelagia Kyrizi, Andreas Kontellis, Giorgos Giotsas and Vasia Vanezi. Also on display are children's art books which were created at the workshops of the Children’s Art Museum. The exhibition was curated by the art historian Louiza Karapidaki.

The exhibition runs from November 21, 2018 to January 18, 2019
