The fairy tale by archaeologist-author Dr. Christos Boulotis, illustrated by Foteini Stefanidi, is inspired by favourite myths of Greek mythology as well as by historical events and figures of modern Greek history – all of them connected with Pilio, Volos and Magnisia.
The main character is a young boy who, with his penetrating gaze, sees beyond reality... He "sees", or rather senses, that the last Centaur is still roaming the land. The boy searches for the Centaur, follows signs of his presence, and finally spots him at the Tsalapatas Rooftile and Brickworks factory in the city of Volos. Our young hero's belief in the existence of the Centaur leads to a deep friendship, also marking the boy's path to knowledge.
Painter-illustrator Foteini Stefanidi depicts the fairytale world of Christos Boulotis with her paintings, adding a sense of tenderness and musicality to the images.
