The Library of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP) offers open access to both researchers and the general public, while operating as a lending library for members as well.

The titles are classified according to the Dewey decimal system and are catalogued according to the AACR2 Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules. The Library's operations are automated according to the Greek National Documentation Centre's Library Automation System openAbekt.
The Library operates in accordance with its approved Operating Rules.
Catalogue A refers to titles on industrial archaeology, history of technology and various production fields, museology, folklore and material culture, ethnology and anthropology, new technologies in research on culture, and economic and social history. It also includes the Library's collection of children's books.

The Library operates as a lending library for members. Books can be borrowed for a period of up to 15 days. If you need to renew the loan period before the 15 days expire, please let us know by e-mail. You can borrow up to 5 books at a time, and the renewal option is given for one time.
Piraeus Bank Group employees are served remotely by the regular internal mail service.
Users of the Library can search for articles in periodicals of interest to them. In case the articles are not found in the Library's collection, it is possible to use the interlibrary loan application to borrow articles from other members of the National Network of Scientific & Technological Libraries of the National Documentation Centre.
There is a Reading Room on the first floor of the building, where you can study the resources archival material you are interested in.
The Library has a Children's Reading Room in an area appropriately designed for the needs of children aged 4 to 12, providing the same services as those for adults. The children's collection has over 2,500 titles and is constantly growing. It includes a comprehensive collection of classic and modern fairy tales and youth and children's novels by Greek and foreign authors. There are also general interest and popular science books to help students with their homework. The collection is constantly renewed and enriched through the purchase of new titles and/or donations.
Educational programmes and activities are carried out in the Children's Reading Room.
The Library offers its services to users on site in the two reading rooms, but also remotely by telephone or e-mail. You can search in the two Online Catalogues using keywords or specific bibliographic data such as title, author, etc. In case you are looking for more specialized material related to agricultural and economic issues, you can contact the specialized staff of the Library to search the card catalogues.
It is not necessary. However, if you wish to borrow books, you must register at the Library, accepting the Operating Rules and providing your personal information to the qualified staff in order to become a member.
The building of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation in Tavros where the Library is housed is accessible to people with disabilities. Access from the entrance of Doridos Street is recommended. There is access for disabled people to the floors as well as to the WCs on the ground floor and the first floor.

The Reading Room of the PIOP Library is open to the public during the operating hours of the Library. On each visit here, you will be asked to fill in the Reader's Card and/or the Researcher's Form for the use of the Online Database.
From the workstations located just outside the Reading Room you have free access to the Library's Online Catalogues, in order to search for the titles you are interested in, and to access PIOP's Online Database. On these computers you are not allowed to install programmes and modify settings. There is no access to the Internet. The Library's specialised staff will assist you in your search and bring the titles you select from the stacks.
The Reading Room is a place of study and concentration. The use of mobile phones is not permitted. Please respect other readers and be quiet. Also, please keep clean the printed and electronic material made available to you as well as the Reading Room area. Smoking and eating food are not permitted.
